Happy Week 4!
Tomorrow our school community will begin observing Lent, a significant 40-day season in the Catholic liturgical calendar. Lent serves as a period of reflection and preparation leading up to Easter, the celebration of Jesus' resurrection. It officially begins on Ash Wednesday, a day marked by a special service where a small cross of ash is placed on the forehead. These ashes symbolize a commitment to "inner growth"—a chance to hit the reset button and focus on being our best selves.
For many families, Lent is a time for three traditional practices:
Almsgiving: Focusing on acts of kindness and supporting those in need through charity.
Whether your family is practicing the faith or simply curious, we invite all our students to use this time to focus on kindness, patience, and community spirit.
Here are some simple, child-friendly acts of kindness that children can undertake at home:
This week, students will be given a small Caritas donation box that they may wish to contribute towards. Next fortnight, this section of the Newsletter will contain information about Caritas, the organisation we raise funds for during Lent.
Please find below the bulletin from Sunday Mass, 15th February, the sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Have a wonderful week,
Sharnie Meade
