Principal's Report

Dear Families, 

It felt quite strange returning to work after such a long break. I would like to sincerely thank Filippa for covering for me during my absence, and everyone else for their support throughout this time. I was also very touched by the warm welcome I received from both staff and students on my return.

I had a wonderful break, spending valuable time with family and finally getting around to things at home that had been on my list for quite a while. Our trip to China was truly amazing, and Jess and I have come away with some fantastic memories. On our final night in Shanghai we went on a river cruise on the Huangpu River which divides the east and west districts. We were treated to amazing light and lazer display as we travelled up and down the river. 

HARMONY DAY

Last Friday, we dressed in a touch of orange to celebrate Harmony Day. All classrooms conducted Harmony Day activities with the focus being the theme "Everyone Belongs." The F-2 students performed their Harmony Day dance for us. The JSC ran a Hot Dog And Zooper Dooper fundraiser and from this, we are donating $200 to the Caritas organisation.

PARENTS & FRIENDS 

A special thank you to the familes who assisted with the Bunnings BBQ on Saturday. By all reports it was a great success. 

LONG SERVICE LEAVE

Next week Mr Tarrant will be taking leave, we are fortunate enough to have Sharon O'Connell filling in for him.

MTB CHAMPION

Jake recently raced in the final round of the Victorian Downhill series, placing 2nd. This was enough to give Jake the overall Victorian championship title! He then backed it up the following weekend, racing at Mt Buller in the National Championships. Out of Australia‘s best u13 downhill rides, Jake placed an impressive 4th. Congratulations Jake, what a huge achievement!

EASTER RAFFLE - P & F

We are calling for donations towards the annual Easter Raffle. Raffle tickets are available to purchase on the Qkr! app. Please place your donation in the basket in the foyer.

EASTER HAT PARADE

On Tuesday 31st March, the JSC are running an out of uniform day and Easter Hat Parade. It would be wonderful to see some creative Easter hats in our parade. We will be calling for a gold coin donation with all proceeds being donated to the Good Friday Appeal. We would prefer that the donation be made via Qkr! 

SCHOOL PHOTOS

Wednesday 1st April is School Photo Day. We ask that students are wearing their full school uniform on this day. The Grade 6 graduation photo will be taken also.

END OF TERM ASSEMBLY

Our final assembly will take place on Thursday at 1:15 pm in the amphitheatre, weather permitting. It is a great opportunity to celebrate student achievements from across the term.

At the conclusion of the assembly, the Easter Colouring Competition winners will be announced and the Easter Raffle will be drawn. Students will then be dismissed at 2:15 pm.
