Principal's Report

Nadja Wood - Acting Principal

Welcome back to Term 2! It has been a wonderful start as I’ve had the opportunity to get to know our staff, students, parents, and the wider school community. I am sincerely grateful for the warm welcome and kindness shown since my arrival. It is clear that this is a very special place, and I look forward to continuing to learn more about Marlborough Primary School and all that makes it such a wonderful community.

Working Bee - This Saturday!!

We would love to see you at this Saturday's working bee from 1:00pm. More information available under 'School Council'.

Muffins for Mums and Special Guardians/Friends

As part of our Mother’s Day celebrations, we warmly invite all mums and special guardians or friends, anyone your child wishes to recognise, to join us for a special morning together before the school day begins. On Friday 8 May at 8:15am, we will be hosting ‘Muffins for Mums and Special Guardians/Friends’ in the library. Enjoy a hot drink and a muffin while spending some relaxed time together before the school day begins. We hope you can join us!

A quick reminder that our Mother’s/Special Person Day Stall will be held next Wednesday, 6 May. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to purchase a small gift for the special people in their lives. All items are $5 (cash only), with a maximum of two gifts per student. Please remember to send your child with a bag to carry their purchases home.

Education Week

Education Week 2026 will be celebrated from Monday 18th May to Friday 22nd May, and this year’s theme is “Showcase Your School”. This theme encourages schools to celebrate their unique community, staff, and learning opportunities.

With this in mind, we are excited to showcase our learning in Science and would like to invite you to participate in a hands-on science activity on Tuesday, 19 May from 2:45pm within your child’s classroom. This will be a wonderful opportunity to join in the fun of science with your child, explore the engaging learning taking place in our classrooms, and see our curious learners in action. We hope you can join us to celebrate and experience Science at our school!

House Cross Country 🏃‍♂️‍➡️

The students will all be participating in the school’s House Cross Country next Wednesday, 6 May. This is a fabulous whole-school event where all students are encouraged to wear their house colours and cheer each other on. Between 11:30am and 1:30pm, students will take part in age-appropriate races, demonstrating persistence, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude. Our House Cross Country is a wonderful opportunity for students to challenge themselves, support their peers, and enjoy being active together. Families are warmly invited to come along and support the runners. If you are able to help out on the day, please see Bonny.

We look forward to a fun and energetic day for all and thank Bonny for organising this fabulous event! Please see 'School News' for more details.

Parent Helpers Needed for Friday Sports 🎾

We are seeking parent helpers to support our Friday 5/6 Interschool Sports program, which runs most Friday mornings this term. Assistance may include helping supervise students, supporting team organisation, or lending a hand with the general running of events on the day. Even if you are only available to help on one Friday, your support would be greatly appreciated. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact the school office as we would love to have you involved!

School Swimming 🏊‍♀️

Our students have made a fantastic start to the school swimming program, showing enthusiasm, confidence, and a willingness to challenge themselves in the water. It has been wonderful to see students building their skills and demonstrating positive attitudes throughout each session so far. We are proud of the effort everyone is putting in and look forward to seeing their continued progress over the final days.
