Wellbeing

At Holy Rosary School all children and families are expected to be Wellbeing Warriors who look after the safety and wellbeing of themselves and others

Harmony Week

We will celebrate Harmony Week at Holy Rosary in Week 1 of Term 2 (April 20-24). Students will participate in activities in class throughout the week, including learning about what an Acknowledgement of Country is, where this tradition came from and then work to create a whole school Acknowledgement of Country. We will share this with our whole school community once this is complete. We will also wear orange on Tuesday 21 April to show support for cultural diversity, inclusiveness and respect for everyone.

New PBL Reward and Acknowledgement System

Holy Rosary has three expectations for students to follow; Safety is our Right, Learning is our Responsibility and Respect is our way. When students follow these expectations it means that teachers can spend their time teaching and students can learn. Staff would like to reward and acknowledge students when they follow the expectations and so we have devised a new system to do just that.

Starting next term, students will be given coloured tokens that correspond to learning, respect and safety.  We Staff will acknowlege the students following our expectations. 1 token equals 1 Dojo point. Each class has created a reward matrix with rewards that are worth either 10, 20 or 30 points. Students can cash their points in whenever they like and choose their own reward. Once students have reached 30 points, we will acknowledge them in the newsletter, with a certificate at an assembly. As a reward they may wear casual clothes on the following Monday.

Students are currently working to set up their class reward matrix and learning about how the system will work, so that we will all be ready to get started next term!
