Principal's News

Dear Families,

This term has been both full and rewarding, with our students embracing a wide range of learning opportunities while continuing to grow in faith, resilience and community spirit.

A significant focus over recent weeks has been NAPLAN for our Year 3 and Year 5 students. We commend them for the calm and positive way they approached each assessment, demonstrating perseverance and confidence. While NAPLAN provides one snapshot of learning, we are equally proud of the many qualities it does not measure, creativity, kindness, collaboration and faith, which we see lived out daily in our classrooms and playgrounds.

Our learning spaces have remained rich and engaging, with students actively involved in literacy and numeracy, as well as specialist lessons that foster creativity and physical wellbeing.

Journey to Jerusalem

Our faith life has been a central part of the term. Across the school we have continued to deepen our connection to the story of Easter. Our upcoming Journey to Jerusalem display in the Church will provide a meaningful opportunity for students and families to reflect on the events of Holy Week.  Families will have the opportunity to visit our Journey to Jerusalem on;

Tuesday 31st March8:30 - 9am
Wednesday 1st April8:45 - 9am or during parish mass at 9.15am, or at 12- 12:30

Families are also welcome to view Journey to Jerusalem during Easter celebration times.

Parent Teacher Conversations

Parent Teacher Conversations on Wednesday 1 April will provide a valuable opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and celebrate their growth. A reminder that children will be dismissed at 12 noon and that MACSEYE is available for any families that need this service.

Last day of Term 1

Holy Thursday (2nd April) marks the end of Term 1.  We remind families that school concludes at 1pm on this day.  MACSEYE is taking bookings for care should families require it.

As we move towards the end of term, we give thanks for the many blessings we have shared, moments of learning, friendship and faith that continue to shape our community. On behalf of the staff, I wish you all the blessings of Easter.  May the joy of Easter fill your hearts with hope, as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.

Road Safety

Recently, we have noticed some concerning and unsafe behaviours around the school at drop-off and pick-up times. These include double parking, calling children across the road instead of using the zebra crossing, making U-turns directly in front of the school while children are crossing, and encouraging children to cross at unsafe points.  The safety of every child is our highest priority, and these actions place children at significant risk. We ask all families to please model safe road behaviours by using designated crossings and following road rules at all times.  Children learn from what they see. We have already observed students attempting to cross roads unsafely, mirroring these behaviours. By working together and setting the right example, we can ensure our school community remains safe for everyone.
