From Blank Page to Studio Recording: Our SongMakers Wrap-Up

Monday 27th & 28th of April we ran an intensive two-day SongMakers incursion, and the results were nothing short of inspiring.

This year, our students had the incredible opportunity to be mentored by three prominent figures in the Australian music industry: Joel Ma (Joelistics), Claire Rayner (Rromarin), and Bealities (Beatrice Lewis). Between them, these mentors bring a wealth of experience across songwriting, production, and performance, providing our students with a truly unique "behind-the-scenes" look at the creative industries.

The Process: Working in small groups, our students were tasked with writing four original songs from scratch on Day 1. On Day 2, they hit the studio to record those tracks under the guidance of our mentors, modeling essential skills like teamwork, enterprise, and working to tight professional deadlines.

The Result: We are incredibly proud of the dedication shown by everyone involved. The four songs written and recorded are outstanding, and the growth in student confidence over just 48 hours was remarkable.
