Anzac Day

On Friday, 24th April, our college community came together across both Middle School and Senior School to commemorate Anzac Day with two meaningful services.
These assemblies provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of the Anzacs who served our country.
Each service was led by student leaders from every year level, demonstrating great respect and leadership.
Our symphonic band enriched the ceremonies with their performances, and Hamish B and Bowan Y delivered a memorable contribution on the trumpet.
Reflections form year 7 students on what Anzac Day means to them.
Anzac day, its a day we remember and honour how the Anzac fought for our freedom. For some Anzac day is about honouring lost ones or paying respect to the ones who served, protected and gave their own lives for our freedom.
For me Anzac means respecting the ones that fought for the country I live, providing me freedom and protection. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't have life I have right now so I am forever grateful to the ones who lost their lives to protect this country. Bailey
To me Anzac day means peace and a day to acknowledge the people who fought for our country and for our freedom. Every year my mum makes Anzac cookies and serves them on a platter with poppy seeds to represent the Anzac and the poppy flower. I also wear a special Anzac badge on Anzac day. Claudia
Anzac day means to me is a day to remember the fallen who have served Australia and fought for our country. To remember and honour the Anzac's is very important so we can hold ceremonies to respect them. The word Anzac isn't just about WW1 its about all the battles Australia solders fought in. Alper
Poem
I reflect on the lives cut short
On people who joined without a thought.
I reflect on those who lay awake at night.
On those who put up a fight.
The ode is spoken,
The last post plays
SSSHHH
Can you hear the silence?
Arms around each other
The players stand tall.
One more silence,
The siren plays.
A black arm band,
the ball bounces.
I give a thought,
to those who have fallen.
