SIS
Plenty of sporting opportunities were available in Term 3, with some major events happening along with the weekly sport.
This term saw students from all year levels participate in the SIS Athletics Carnival held in August at Casey Stadium.
Once again, students made us proud by giving many events a go. Students participated in a range of events, including Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, Discus, Javelin and a range of different track events. Many students were good enough to get a ribbon on the day, and they should be proud of putting in an outstanding effort on the day. Well done to all students and staff involved in the day.
Throughout Term 3, there was also a weekly sport, including senior Boys Basketball coached by Mr Mark Bowler, Senior Girls Netball coached by Miss Teagan Collins, Intermediate Girls Netball coached by Miss Sonia McNally, Intermediate Girls Soccer coached by Ms Veronica Chia and Mr Justin Chungue, Intermediate Boys Soccer coached by Mr Tim Swan and Intermediate Touch Rugby coached by Mr Paul O’Loughlin.
A big thank you to all staff coaching the teams, and congratulations to all students participating and representing the college.
Ms Sonia McNally also took 12 students to represent St Johns in the SIS Badminton Rally on July 30. They did an outstanding job and came in the top 5 overall.
We look forward to more events available in Term 4 including weekly sports such as Jnr Girls and Boys Basketball, Jnr Girls Volleyball, Jnr Boys Indoor Cricket and Intermediate Boys and Girls Basketball. We also have a sports bonanza day to finish the year.
