Reflections of Semester 1

SAPSASA Basketball

During Week 1 of this term, 17 Year 5/6/7 students participated in the SAPSASA Basketball Competition at Wayville Sports Centre. Both the boys' and girls' teams were grouped with 6 other schools from around the state in a round robin format.

The boys played extremely well and hard throughout the day and finished 5th, winning 3 games, drawing 1 and losing 2 by a combined 5 points.  The girls also played extremely well over many matches. They finished 5th as well, winning 3 games and losing 3.

Thank you to Ms Brook, Mr Clayton and parents for their assistance and coaching on the day.

The Boys' Team - Kingsley, David, Zac, Cosmo, Steffen, Anthony, Mitchell, Beau and Geordie.

Underdale Cup

At the end of Term 1, our mixed boys and girls Underdale Cup squad ventured down to Underdale High School to defend our 2017 title of the competition. We competed in a total of 4 games during the round robin format and then played a further 2 games, the last being the Grand Final. Throughout the day our students demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and were respectful to all officials. The team worked extremely hard and maintained a positive attitude throughout each game as we got deeper into the competition.

It's the second year in a row where we did not concede a goal from open play - scoring 11 and conceding 0. Defeating Allenby Gardens in the Grand Final 1-0 was a repeat of last year's victory over them (3-0).
