Instrumental Music Program 2022

 

Great Ryrie Primary School encourages students to learn musical instruments and develop new skills through the school music program. The school provides students an opportunity to learn a musical instrument through private tuition during school hours. This is a self-funding program.

 

Great Ryrie Primary School has qualified tutors, who are able to teach a variety of instruments including:

  • Bass Guitar *
  • Drums/Percussion
  • Trumpet *
  • Trombone *
  • Euphonium *
  • Saxophone *
  • Clarinet *
  • Flute *
  • Violin*
  • Cello
  • Piano
  • Contemporary Keyboard
  • Guitar (All styles)*
  • Voice/Singing

* A limited number of these instruments are available for hire from the school at $130 per semester (6 months) or $260 year (February to December). A refundable bond of $70 must be paid at the beginning of the hire period and will be refunded upon the return of the instrument in good, operational order. Asterixed (*) instruments only. 

 

Students are only permitted to learn 1 instrument during school hours.

 

In 2022, there will be the option of a 20 minute individual lesson (best option for those in the younger year levels) OR a 30 minute individual lesson per week for 8 weeks, each term. 

 

Expression of Interest forms must be completed and submitted for your child to secure a place in the program for 2022. New forms MUST be completed for existing instrumental music students (who were in the program in 2021). Places are limited and will be allocated according to the order forms are received.

HIRE INSTRUMENTS

 

All instruments that have been hired from Great Ryrie P.S. this year must now be returned by Friday 10th December for cleaning and servicing. The bond of $70 can either be refunded or credited towards future school payments and expenses. Please contact Peta.Murray@education.vic.gov.au once the instrument has been returned and outline whether you would like your bond credited or refunded.
