Grade 5 Snapshot

Dear Parents,

Thanks for your support during the first 5 weeks of home learning 2.0. The students have been doing really well given the circumstances.

As we move into week 7 of home learning, we are aware that many students are having difficulty staying motivated. You’ll notice that we have made some changes to our schedule for next week as we trial some new initiatives to re-engage students in their learning. This will include more student choice as they work on a project in Maths and Inquiry and a series of exciting genres in Reading and Writing. We will have daily Wellbeing activities and Mini Lessons. There will also be a one-on-one Wellbeing Check in for your child between 9.30-10.15 Monday to Thursday. Your child will be given a Google Meet time through Google Classroom to login with their teacher for this Check in.

If you are worried about your child’s wellbeing during these challenging times, Kids Helpline  is a fantastic resource for students to have a private and confidential phone or online conversation with a professional, specialised counsellor; no matter who they are, where they live or what they want to talk about. There are resources available on their website for parents and carers to use as well.
