Temporary Closures - City of Kingston Community Areas

To ensure the safety of our community, the City of Kingston has decided to take a number of measures to reduce the risk of spread of COVID-19. 

  • All City of Kingston arts and cultural venues, including the Kingston Arts Centre, Kingston City Hall and Shirley Burke Theatre will be closed from 3pm on Wednesday 18 March until Tuesday 14 April 2020, with the possibility of this closure being extended. 
  • Waves Leisure Centre will be closed from 3pm on Wednesday 18 March until Tuesday 14 April 2020, with the possibility of this closure being extended. 
  • All City of Kingston libraries will be closed from 3pm on Wednesday 18 March until Tuesday 14 April 2020, with the possibility of this closure being extended. 
  • All City of Kingston childcare facilities will operate as usual at this time. 
  • City of Kingston’s Customer Service counters at Cheltenham and Chelsea will be closed. Council can still assist you with any queries via: Phone 1300 653 356, Email: info@kingston.vic.gov.au and follow our social media channels.
  • City of Kingston Council meetings will continue as planned.  As always, the public are welcome to attend but we encourage you to instead watch via our regular live streaming service

Impact on Kingston Youth Services

Kingston’s Youth Drop-In Centre at Southland will be closed, however 1:1 counselling and case work will continue as usual.

All group programs and events will be suspended.
