Year 10s MYP Celebration

Friday 12 November marked the final day of MYP classes for our amazing Year 10 students, and we recognised their achievements over the past four years with a day full of celebration!

Students chose the dress code ‘fancy/formal’ for the day. We had a sausage sizzle for lunch and, with the rain falling heavily, the Design room was transformed into an impromptu dance floor.

Following lunch, we gathered in the Library, which had been decorated by the Year 10s with fresh flowers and fairy lights. Displays of Design and Visual Arts work hung on the walls, and some students chose to display their Personal Projects. Otis did an amazing job as the Master of Ceremonies, and we were treated to an afternoon of student work including short film, music and a performance from the theatre class.

At the end of the afternoon, Kat Girbau (the Year 10 Coordinator) and Natalie Kunst (the MYP Coordinator) presented each student with a special gift bag to help them prepare for their future studies in Years 11 and 12. Kat prepared a ‘photo story’ which included images from this cohort’s first day of Year 7 back in January 2018!

The Year 10 cohort is an amazing group of students, whose humour, hard work and tenacity have helped them really grow throughout the four years of the MYP. Their Personal Projects were diverse and reflected them as individuals and their unique skills and interests. We wish them all the best as they start their early commencement of Years 11 and 12 subjects.
