HOORAY for HOOPTIME !

Term 3 2019 was the last time this much-loved sporting tournament ran, so without saying, our Year 3/4’s were super-pumped to finally have the chance to participate in this year’s Dendy HoopTime tournament!

Today our 5 selected teams of basketballers bused off to MSAC basketball stadium in Albert Park and played multiple games over the day against other Dendy schools.  Staff, students and supporting parents thoroughly enjoyed the day with some great results obtained….  

Our All Stars Girls versed SJA (St Joan of Arc) in the Grand Final and played brilliantly to secure the WIN!! 

Our Boys All stars also made it to the Grand Final but lost out to Sacred Heart.

Huge effort by all our players. Well done!

A HUUUGE thank you to all the parents and staff who supported the team’s over today : some well-earnt ‘feet-up’ time tonight I’m sure!  Complete ‘accurate’ results will be posted in next week’s sports section of the newsletter.

Year 5&6 Senior HoopTime - NEXT WEEK!

Next Friday our five Senior HoopTime teams will have their turn at MSAC.  We wish them all the very best for a great day of basketball!

RETURN OF JNR HOOPTIME SINGLETS:  if all Junior HoopTime families  can please COLD WASH & AIR DRY their child’s borrowed SF basketball singlet over the weekend and return it to their class teacher on Monday.  Our Year 5&6 teams now need them for their tournament next week.

Now that our Year 5/6 Winter Sport term is over we ask that all borrowed football jerseys be cold washed and air-dried and returned to school to their class teacher.  Thank you for your anticipated support.

SWIMMING & WATER SAFETY LESSONS

This week all families should have received an Operoo permission and information email regarding our upcoming Week 7 & 8 Swimming program.  If you can please read over all information and accept this permission by the 8th of August.  Day 1 for our Swimming program is set for Monday 22nd August.

DISTRICT ATHLETICS - Tuesday 30th August

Mrs Thompson is in the process of finalising event participants for the upcoming Dendy District Athletics carnival.  Team selection has been based upon results from our Senior Athletics carnival held back in Term 1.  This year this event will be held at Duncan McKinnon Reserve in Murrumbeena.  Any parents willing to volunteer an hour or two to help run the triple jump event for us, please email Tania with your availability.  Thank you.
