Bandanna Day

Bandana Day
On Friday the 12 of November (week 6), the SJC will be hosting Killara High School’s annual Bandanna Day fundraiser but, due to the unique challenges of 2021, the event will look a little different this year. Bandanna Day is a national event that asks for a $5 donation to purchase a cotton bandanna with all money going to CanTeen.
CanTeen is a charity that supports young people aged 12-25 who have been or are being affected by cancer themselves, as well as people who have friends or family members affected by cancer. CanTeen provides specialist treatments, counselling, youth support programs, and helps connect people in similar situations so they have someone who can really understand and help them through a tough time
Instead of selling the bandannas during the school day, the SJC is asking parents and carers to help us raise money for this important cause by digitally purchasing a bandanna through the school's accounts to avoid the handling of money.
The SJC will then organise to distribute the number of bandannas purchased to students throughout the day on Thursday, so students can come to school Friday sporting their new bandanna/s to show their support of the cause.
In previous years, the SJC has been overwhelmed by the level of support and engagement from students and teachers; not only in supporting the charity but also in their attitudes towards the cause. We hope the school community will continue to support us in donating to this great cause digitally this year.
The closing date for purchases will be Tuesday November 9.
