Audio Books

This week the library has expanded our range of Audio Books, which can be easily borrowed through our online catalogue. Mysteries, science fiction, fantasy, non fiction – there is something for everyone in our audio book and e book collection. Choose something and then write a review for our catalogue to let other people know what you thought!  (Click on Format in the left hand menu to choose digital resources).

Academic Help 

We are also always ready to help students with research and academic needs – why not check out some of our academic journal and newspaper subscriptions, or have a look at the updated Research section of our website for ideas?

Wellbeing Activities

The library is running a range of Wellbeing activities for students, including competitions, Kahoot and online puzzles. Watch for these and other news on our Instagram: @the_lionlibrary

Our newest competition:  Shelfie!  Send us a photo of your your favourite reading spot – or your pet’s favourite reading spot! Bonus points if you have a picture of your pet reading a book.  Send your entry to the library and tell us if we can put your entry up on our Instagram page.

Our Knitting Group meets each Thursday at 12:30 – come for a chat! You can knit (or we can teach you) or just tell us about how you are going. If you want to, help support our charity Wrap with Love by knitting a square for our current blanket project.  

The Reading Challenge 2021 is up to 726 books! Anyone in the family can join in with this, and audio books are more than welcome.

Craft and STEM

Many of our students love using the library’s collection of craft materials, games and model making resources.  We are expanding this ready for when we return to learning at school. Get ready for a huge range of puzzles, model kits, art and craft making equipment and create something for our next library exhibition.
