Performing Arts Update

At Templestowe Park the Grade 5 and 6 students are involved in a musical every odd year. They are such an exciting process which enables students to challenge themselves and grow in confidence and pride.  In 2023, we will proudly present ‘The Wizard of Oz’ (Young Performers’ Edition) at the Forest Hill College Theatre - 178/180 Mahoneys Road, Burwood East 3151.

  • Cast A will perform on Tuesday 29th August and
  • Cast B on Wednsday 30th August 2023

Please note that students will perform on both evenings with Cast A and Cast B.

This year we will be having a matinee and evening performance on each day.  Thus, giving students more opportunity to perform on stage and to an audience.

Information and dates about auditions will be provided to students next week at school, with the cast being announced prior to school holidays. We will look forward to commencing rehearsals at the start of Term 3!

Sports Update

Cross Country

Earlier this week, selected students from Grade 3-6 competed in the District Cross Country event held at Ruffey Lake Park.  Despite being a little wet, the conditions were otherwise great for cross country running.  We had a very successful day with all students completing their races against the best runners in our district.  We also had 12 students who qualified for the Division Cross Country event later in the term. Well done to everyone on a fantastic day!

Lawn Bowls

Our Blue Lawn Bowls team competed in the State Lawn Bowls Championship on the 4th May.  The team performed well by winning their first 2 matches but unfortunately lost their final group game by a matter of centimetres, which kept them from challenging for the State Championship.  Regardless of this, the team represented the school with pride and displayed fantastic sportsmanship in a high-pressure situation.  Well done to all students that trained throughout Term 1 and competed on the day.  We are all very proud of your efforts!
