Term 4 Week 11
It has been a busy week with our Christmas Carols last Friday, farewelling our Year 6 students for 2019, final 2019 School Council meeting and having the year 6 sleepover last night, the school year is coming to a close. The sleepover last night was a nice way for our year 6 students to finish their time at Moyhu Primary School. They had lots of swims, cooked dinner together, played games and watched movies all while having few laughs and enjoying each others company.
On Reflecting back on the year, the children have participated in a number of camps and excursions, participated in lots of learning activity and have had lots of fun with the specialist programs. The school has also had a few changes of staff during the year. Bec Gathercole undertook a job opportunity in Wangaratta, Kate White is on maternity leave, having her first baby, Ben. Bek Sinclair joined our school for term 4. I thanked a number of people last Friday and without these people and their help the school would not function as well as it does. So again thank-you to everyone that has supported the school this year in some way or another. A farewell and a big thank-you to the Proft and Shanley families for everything you have done for the Moyhu Primary School. You will be missed.
We have attached the speeches with photos on the next page of this newsletter from the Christmas Carols last Friday evening.
As mentioned we held our last School Council meeting for 2019 last Thursday. It was discussed that we are in a financial position to allow the school to continue with all previous programs as well developing the technology within the school.
Staffing for next year will include Rebekka Sinclair continuing on full time with the F-3 class for Term 1, and I will have the 4-6 class with a 2 day a week position to be finalised early in the school year to share the teaching with myself. Kate White will return at the start of Term 2. The specialist programs of Music, Italian, Art, Library and Bluearth will be operating for 2020 as per this year.
Next year we will have a few changes for our School Council. We are losing Liz who has been on the school Council for 10 years and President for 7 years, Chris (5 years) and Emma (8 years). A huge wealth of knowledge and person power lost to the school. On behalf of the school Council, I would like to thank the three of you as well as Warren for all your work, support and help during your time at the school, supporting the school in the many different roles. This commitment to the school is greatly appreciated by everyone involved in the school.
If anyone is interested in joining our wonderful School Council for 2020 please come and see me early in the new year when school returns.
Finally I would like to wish everyone in our school community a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I hope you all have a restful break. Stay safe and see you all refreshed for 2020.
