Panadol

You may recently have seen news reports of a move to ban over-the-counter sales of Panadol, due to the alarming increase of self harm through misuse.  Following from this, the Department of Education is now recommending that Panadol is only administered in schools in exceptional circumstances, meaning that we will no longer be supplying it through Sickbay.

If your child is likely to require pain relief for a known reason, eg: new braces, major injury, please let us know in advance, visit the office to sign a Medication Permission Form and supply the required medication.

Children who present at Sickbay with an ad hoc request for Panadol will be encouraged to explore other avenues of resilience, but parents may be asked to personally administer Panadol or take the student home.

Hayfever

If your child is likely to need anti-histamine medication for hayfever, please send the required product to the Sickbay and sign a Medication Permission form at the Office.
