Division Girls Football

On Friday 20th May, Rowville Primary School competed in the Knox Division Girls Footy Gala Day at Kings Park.

During this term the team had been training hard together with Ms Butcher and Leeann Gill, a coach from the Rowville Hawks, working on their skills and familiarising themselves with the game.

They all seemed to really enjoy the day, getting involved in all the activities, including the Lunchtime Sprint Race (ran by Elise) and the Longest Kick Competition (with Charlie representing us) as well as the footy!

Their great attitude and team spirit throughout the day is summed up in Ms Butcher’s comment below…..

“I was so proud of the determination, bravery and pride the Rowville Primary School Girl’s Football Team showed on Friday. Throughout the day, you could see the confidence and enthusiasm grow, as the girls embraced new challenges. One highlight in particular was a beautiful play where the girls created space on a kick out, which lead to two consecutive marks and eventually a goal. The team should all be so proud of themselves!”

Great job team!

District Athletics

On Friday 13th May, our Rowville Primary School Athletics Team lead by our Captains Josephine, Evangelina, Tyson and Cooper, headed to the Knox Athletics Track for the District Athletics. There were many outstanding individual performances on the day, with a number of our students finishing first and second in their events and qualifying for the Division Athletics later in September.

Another highlight was Rowville Primary School’s magnificent performance in the 100m relays. Our students had trained every recess in their teams in the weeks leading up to the event and it definitely paid off, with many of our teams placing, quite a few finishing first and second and some qualifying for Division. It was so exciting to watch!

Congratulations to Tyson G and Ashton Y who were awarded their respective Age Group Champions medals. What a magnificent achievement!

Also a HUGE congratulations to the entire Rowville Primary School Athletics Team on finishing second and being presented with the Wantirna District Runners Up Pennant.

Go Rowville Primary School!
