The Grade 1s had a fabulous time at their Grade 1 Dinner! We danced, played party games, ate a delicious dinner and ice-cream, and we finished the night with a Grade 1 celebration video. Check out the fun we had!

From the Grade 4 Camp

Grade 4 Anglesea Camp - by Maddie T

Wednesday the 3rd of December the grade fours went to Anglesea camp. The bus drive was about two and a half hours but we got to stop in between to eat our snacks. When we got there, everyone was feeling excited but we didn’t have too long until our first activity which was canoeing. After canoeing we had beach games and we played survival tag in the water, then we had a big walk back to camp. Everyone was stinky and sweaty so we had to have a shower. Then we went outside and played. I was feeling itchy and hot but luckily we had dinner and it was nice and cool in there. For dinner we had spaghetti bolognese and for dessert we had ice cream - everything was delicious. Later on we watched Smurfs the Magic Book, and after the movie we went to bed.

On Thursday I woke up to birds singing and the sun shining. I had to get ready for the day then I went down for breakfast. They had lots of food choices that all looked yummy. After breakfast I had initiatives - I got pretty wet but I dried quickly. Next we had archery but I didn’t hit a bulls eye. I was a bit hungry so luckily we had morning tea - they had banana muffins and fruit. Straight after morning tea we had vertical challenge; it was so fun - I climbed all 18 metres. Next we had bouldering and mini golf and it was pretty cool. Later on we showered and had dinner, we had BBQ chicken and fried rice. For dessert we had peaches and custard. After dinner we had the talent show; I didn’t participate but it was fun watching. When it finished I went to bed but I had to get up early to have breakfast, I had cereal. After breakfast we had crate climb and I stacked all 12 crates and was super awesome. Our last activity was skateboarding and it was so good and very fun. After skateboarding we had lunch and we had rolls but sadly we had to go on the bus and say goodbye to Anglesea. The drive back home the about 3 hours because of traffic, but I was super happy to be home with my parents.

Day 1

We arrived to a sunny day and got straight into the activities of the YMCA discovery camp. First I had skateboarding which was really fun. Next I had crate climb and I climbed all twelve crates - it was amazing! Then we had dinner; for dinner we had spaghetti Bolognese with ice cream for dessert.

Day 2

I woke up to the sound of fun. I ran down to get breakfast. We had our first activity which was archery and I got my first bullseye, our instructor was great. Next I had the vertical challenge which was so high but once I got to the top I could see the amazing view of the camp site. Then we were lowered down. While we were waiting, we got to be the belayers. We then ran back to the kitchen for lunch which was chicken wraps. Back to activities now, I had mini golf and bouldering. In mini golf, I got 5 hole-in-ones and in bouldering I tried to get on the roof but it was too hard. Final activity of the day I had Initiatives where we had to fill up a broken pipe, I got drenched! Then we had dinner which was chicken and rice .

Final day

We woke up and started packing. When we finished we went to the beach. We then just played games for a while. Next we sped over to the canoeing which I loved but it was hard. Then we went back for lunch which was great. Then we left to go back to school which was a 2 hours and 30 minutes and on the bus we watched 2 movies.

Grade 4 Camp - by Tommy C

On Wednesday December 3rd, the Grade Fours went to Anglesea camp. When we arrived, we all put our bags in the hall and headed to one of our activities.

The activities were canoeing, beach games [which included running around in the water}, crate climb where there were milk crates and you stack them on top of each other, mini golf/Bouldering which means rock climbing with no harness (only helmet),  as well as skateboarding which was by far the best, vertical challenge, archery and Initiatives - which if you did it, you would get soaked!

Also the meals were great, everything was delicious, and after we had food inside, a cabin would be chosen to do duty group where you would have to clean up after everyone. You would also have to come 15 minutes early. On the last night, we had a talent show. Everyone had a lot of fun and super harsh judges but overall everyone had a great time. I wish I could do it again!

From the Grade 5 classrooms

This week the Grade 5s have been learning about comics. They have learnt how to include different kinds of panels, create character profiles and different face styles. Have a look at some of the results.
