A Time to Remember, Reflect, and Honour

On Friday 24th April, our school community gathered for a special ANZAC Day assembly—a moment set aside not just in tradition, but in deep respect and gratitude. Together, we paused to remember the men and women who have served, fought, and sacrificed for the freedoms we experience today.

The assembly was marked by a quiet sense of reverence. As we listened, reflected, and stood together, we were reminded that ANZAC Day is more than a date on the calendar—it is a legacy carried through generations.

What made this year’s commemoration particularly meaningful was the personal connection shared by our students. Many brought along medals, photographs, and treasured mementos belonging to family members who had served. These items, small in size but immense in significance, helped bring history into the present. 

ANZAC Day invites us to reflect not only on the past, but on the values that endure—mateship, courage, endurance, and sacrifice. It challenges us to consider how we carry these values forward in our own lives: in the way we support one another, show kindness, and stand up for what is right.

As a school, we are proud of the thoughtful and respectful way our students engaged in this important occasion. Their willingness to share, listen, and reflect ensures that the spirit of ANZAC lives on in the next generation.

ANZAC DAY - Junior School

For ANZAC Day, our F–2 students had a wonderful hands-on experience baking traditional ANZAC biscuits. They followed a simple recipe and worked together to carefully measure, add and mix the ingredients. They really enjoyed every step of the process, especially the delicious smells and eating their biscuits.

The students then decorated their own special poppy-themed bags to take their biscuits home in, proudly connecting their baking to the importance and spirit of ANZAC Day.
