2025 Term 4 Level 1 Newsletter

Welcome to Term Four.

We are looking forward to a term of excitement, energy and consolidation! The students will engage in deep, rich, hands-on learning tasks designed to ignite their inner curiosity and create lifelong explorers. Students will have opportunities to build their capacity around emotional regulation and communication to equip them with the skills and strategies to support a positive start to Year Two next year.

We also welcome Miss Monique Kelly and Mrs Angelique Shmerling who will be teaching 1A for the remainder of the year while Mrs Kimielle Vecchio is on maternity leave. Please see below a brief introduction and photo of both teachers.

Miss Monique Kelly (1A Teacher: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)

My name is Monique, and I am very excited to spend Term Four learning and growing with 1A. I love travelling and creating memories with my two boys and extended family, spending time outdoors and Christmas celebrations. I look forward to getting to know the extended level one community.

Mrs Angelique Shmerling (1A Teacher: Monday, Thursday and Friday)

My name is Angelique, and I am excited to join the Year 1 team. I speak three languages, my favourite colour is pink, and I like baking sweet treats. I have a baby girl whose name starts with G, and I have a fluffy, black dog called Ollie. I look forward to getting to know the Year 1 families.

At the end of this school year, your child’s report will go live via Compass on the 17th of December. The reports will be a celebration of their learning and demonstrate the success that they have had in each subject area.

We look forward to a positive, final term with your child and family.

Monday 3rd November – Curriculum Day (no school)
Tuesday 4th November – Melbourne Cup Public Holiday (no school)
Thursday 6th November – New Families Afternoon Tea
Tuesday 9th December – 2026 Day! Your child will spend the day with their 2026 class and teacher
Wednesday 17th December – Student reports available to families via Compass
Friday 19th December – Last day of Term 4 (early finish 1:30pm)
