Mother’s Day
This Sunday is Mother's Day. This week, on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at school, we got to sing and dance to a song for our mums. After that, we did an activity where we made a hand holding some flowers. Finally, the teachers gave us some succulents to keep and grow.
It was really emotional for the Year 6 students because this was the last time we got to celebrate Mother's Day at Our Lady's Primary School. By far, this was the best Mother's Day celebration we have had at school.
We hope everyone bought a nice gift from the Mother's Day stall to give to your mums on Sunday. Thanks to all the parents who helped set up our stall and also helped out on the day.
Now hide those presents under the bed or in your cupboard so mum can't find it.
Make sure to spoil your mum with a delicious, full-of-love breakfast or do something to help her around the house. But the most important thing is to spend time with her.
Here's a Little Poem for your Special Mum
Everybody has a mother
That is simple and true
But often we forget our Mums
And all the things they do
On Mother's Day, take some time
To thank her for all she’s done
Food and clothes, and rides to school
And driving to places where you have fun
Like zoos, parks and playgrounds
And to the dentist's office, too`
It might not be as fun a time
But mum always knows what’s good for you.

Drawing Competition - FINAL CALL
Next week is the last week to get your drawing competition entries in.
We encourage as many students as possible to enter and to be imaginative and creative.
There will be prizes awarded for both Junior and Senior winners, so all age groups have a chance to shine.
We look forward to seeing your amazing creations and hope you have lots of fun expressing your artistic talents! 🎨

Prep Excursion

Asees
At Bk’s I did lots of fun things such as swinging on the bars, balancing on a beam and got from smallest to biggest. Next, I did backward rolls, and I had fun on yoga balls. After a long workout, we ate snacks.

Noah
First, I took off my shoes and socks, next we went on a fun trampoline, and we did star jumps, and we went on a gymnastic ring. We went on a thin beam, and we went on some bars, and we had fun swinging on them.
Yard slip Winner
This week, we only had one yard slip winner, so if you receive one, don't forget to put it in the mail box near the art room. Congratulations to Isania from 2C for getting a slip for being kind. You will get your prize next week at assembly.
HAVE A GREAT MOTHER'S DAY!
