Nathan Lyon - Australian Cricketer Visit to Manilla
We are super excited to announce that Nathan Lyon, Australian cricketer, will be visiting St Michael’s on Tuesday, 19th May 2026, to meet and talk to our students.


Nathan is also hosting a free event for kids aged 5-17 years on Monday, 18th May 2026 from 3pm - 7pm at Chaffey Park Manilla.

Nathan Lyon is bringing to Manilla a unique collaboration that bridges elite sport and leadership development on May 18th-19th, 2026.
In partnership with his leadership mentor, David Stewart, Nathan is delivering the “Have You Got What It Takes?” Emerging Leaders Summit — a high‑impact leadership experience designed specifically for students and emerging young leaders.
This session draws directly from Nathan’s professional sporting career and explores the real-world connection between leadership, performance, and personal discipline. With David Stewart — a 35‑year veteran in leadership development - facilitating, students gain practical tools they can apply immediately in school, sport, and life.

This is an intentionally small event and priced at $67 per student (including lunch and leadership book).
There will be an opportunity for photos and autographs with Nathan Lyon at the events.




ACS Primary Rugby Union Trials & Gary McSweeney Cup
Friday 29th of May 2026 - Tamworth.
Schools are invited to send students (boys and girls) of a proficient skill level to the Diocesan Rugby Union Trials and Gary McSweeney Cup in Tamworth on Friday, 29th of May 2026. A Diocesan team will be chosen to represent the Armidale Diocese at the NSWCPS Rugby Union Championships in Forbes on Sunday, 28th and Monday 29th of June, 2026.
It is a school-based competition. It is open to any 11-year-old or 12-year-old student. It is a 10-a-side competition. Smaller schools will be combined to create a full team. Nominations are due by Monday 25th May 2026.
A note will be forwarded home to students to nominate.
2026 Sport Nomination - Girls Rugby League, Girl's Rugby 7's, Boys Netball, Golf, AFL, Softball and Diving.
Girl's Rugby League, Girl's Rugby 7's, Boys Netball, Golf, AFL, Softball and Diving do not have trial dates for the Armidale Diocese due to the lack of numbers. Students must display exceptional skills in the chosen sport prior to applying. Applications must be approved by your School Sport Coordinator prior to applying.
