Sport remains a key part of the College experience, with students involved in a range of sporting opportunities. See below for more information on Senior School and Junior School Sport.
Senior School Highlights
Clayfield College was proudly represented at the recent Central District Cross Country Trials, with students taking on strong competition from across the district.
Representing the College were Danielle Frith, Xavier Hunter, Lucas Lu and Max Moore, who all competed strongly across their respective events.
Congratulations to Danielle Frith and Xavier Hunter, who have progressed to the next stage of the representative school sport pathway at the Met North Cross Country Trials. Their selection reflects the consistency of their preparation and progression throughout the season.
Mountain Biking
Clayfield College Sport invites students in Years 6 to 12 to attend our first Mountain Biking Come & Try Session for 2026. This session is a fantastic opportunity for students to experience mountain biking in a fun, safe and supportive environment. It is perfect for beginners or those interested in joining the MTB program in Term 2.

- Time: 4:15pm to 5:15pm
Location: Clayfield College Main Oval
Students should bring a mountain bike (if available), helmet, enclosed shoes and a water bottle. A limited number of College bikes and helmets will be available. Registrations are via Parent Lounge under:

Bike Maintenance Session
- Date: Friday 8 May (Evening)
- Time: 6:15pm to 7:45pm
- Venue: Clayfield College Assembly Hall
This practical session will focus on essential bike care, equipping students with the knowledge and skills to maintain their equipment and support their performance on the trails. Further details regarding both sessions can be found on the College App.
2026 QGSSSA Cross Country Championships
- Date: Saturday 23 May
Venue: John Paul College, Daisy Hill
The 2026 QGSSSA Cross Country Championships are fast approaching, with our runners preparing to take on the challenge against the strongest competition in the association.
Following months of consistent training and commitment, our athletes are ready to represent Clayfield College with determination and pride. The Championships are a highlight of the school sporting calendar, and we encourage our community to get behind the team.
Spectator Information
Senior students are strongly encouraged to attend and support this important opportunity to contribute to the spirit, connection and culture of Clayfield College sport.
- House Spirit Bonus: One House point will be awarded to every student in attendance.
- Spectator Giveaway: All attending students will go into the draw to win a Spectator Prize Pack.
- Transport: Return transport will be provided by Clayfield College.

- Departure: Bayview Terrace - 7:30am
- Return: Approximately 12:30pm
- To Bring: Students are required to bring morning tea and a water bottle. Boarders will be provided with refreshments.
- Uniform: Full Winter Uniform is required, including blazer and hat.

Junior School Highlights
Clayfield College athletes produced a series of determined performances at the recent Central District Cross Country Trials, competing strongly against a talented field of runners from across the district.
Standout performances came from Ava Spizzirri and Winnie Woodcroft, who both earned selection in the Central District representative team, a reward for their consistency, preparation and commitment throughout the season.
Also representing Clayfield College with pride were Samson Eckers, Harper Horwood, Lincoln Retief and Hudson Tait, all of whom demonstrated great effort and determination across the course.
With strong depth emerging throughout the program, the future of Cross Country at Clayfield College continues to build momentum.
Andrews Cup Cross Country
Our Andrews Cup Cross Country runners have been training diligently as they prepare for their upcoming competition in Ipswich. Families and supporters are warmly encouraged to attend and cheer on the team. Please remember to bring appropriate sun protection.

Logistics
- Students are to meet at the Tuckshop area at 7:00am ready for roll call
- There will be no canteen operating at the venue
- Students must bring their own morning tea, lunch and sufficient water for the day
Following presentations, students will return to school to complete the remainder of the school day. Normal pick-up procedures apply

- Clayfield College PE shirt and shorts/bike pants (new design only)
- Clayfield College Cross Country singlet (loaned by the Sports Department)
- White sport socks
- Suitable running footwear
- Clayfield College tracksuit (new design only) - optional
Andrews Cup Netball Metro Meet
Our Andrews Cup netballers have been refining their skills as they prepare for their upcoming Metro Meet, an important lead-in event ahead of the Andrews Cup competition in Toowoomba.

- Date: Thursday 14 May
- Time: 4:00pm to 6:00pm
Venue: Downey Park Netball Association, Windsor
Logistics
- Students are to meet at the Tuckshop area immediately after school for roll call
- There will be no canteen operating at the venue
- Students must bring afternoon tea and water
Students must sign out with their coach prior to leaving the venue
Uniform Requirements
- Clayfield College PE shirt and shorts
- White socks
- Suitable netball footwear
Tracksuit (optional)
Return Travel
A return bus will transport students back to the College, with an expected arrival time of approximately 6:10pm. Parents who wish to collect their child directly from the venue must sign out with a Clayfield College staff member prior to departure.
