SPC Senior School Athletics Carnival

The 2026 SPC Athletics Carnival will be held on Thursday, 18 June at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre. More information about the day, including travel and event details, will be sent out closer to the carnival. To help the carnival run smoothly, students who wish to compete in Championship Events must register before the carnival.

What are Championship Events?

Championship Events are for students who want to compete seriously in athletics. These events are used to determine Age Champions and may assist with selection in SPC Athletics teams. If you regularly compete in athletics, are aiming for representative selection, or want to challenge yourself against the best athletes in your age group, you should register for these events.

What are House Races?

House Races are separate from Championship Events and are designed for participation, fun and House spirit. Students can enter the 100m and 200m House Races on the day without pre-registering. These races contribute to your House points but do not count towards Age Champion results or Athletics Team selection.

Important: If you want to compete in any Championship Event, you must register before the deadline. Students who do not register will not be able to enter Championship Events on the day.

Founder’s Day Cup

The First XI defeated the SPC Old Boys 4–1 to reclaim the shield in 2026. The match was played in excellent spirit by both teams and proved to be an entertaining contest.

The First XI started strongly, controlling possession and dictating the tempo of the game. Their early pressure was rewarded when some excellent build-up play down the right flank resulted in a cross that was brilliantly volleyed home by Nicolas H to give SPC a 1–0 lead.

Shortly after, an awkward clearance from Isaac G fell kindly to the opposition right-back, who struck a first-time effort from approximately 30 metres that looped over the goalkeeper and into the net to level the scores at 1–1.

The First XI responded positively and regained control of the match, scoring again before halftime to take a 2–1 lead into the break.

Returning for the second half, the team showed greater purpose and intensity, creating several chances and adding two more goals to secure a convincing 4–1 victory and win back the shield.

It was a pleasing performance from the boys and a fitting way to celebrate the occasion.
