Co-Curricular

We offer so much here at the College in terms of our co-curricular. It encompasses sport, cultural and service-learning activities. Our students get involved in so much both inside and outside of the school.
Today I would like to focus on two of our students who were recently recognised at the Strathfield Rotary Youth Achievement Awards.
Patrick was recognised in the Sports – Junior boys' section and received a certificate. His citation read:
Patrick, a Year 10 student at St Patrick's College Strathfield, is a highly deserving candidate whose achievements reflect a strong commitment to service, leadership and sporting excellence. As a volunteer surf lifesaver at Narrabeen Beach SLSC, he has completed over 65 patrol hours and mentors younger members through the Nippers program. He holds his Bronze Medallion, First Aid and Resuscitation qualifications, and is progressing through the Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award. Patrick is a two-time club age champion and the current school Swimming U16 champion, combining sporting success with genuine community impact.
Jack was recognised in the Sports – Senior Male section and received a plaque. His citation read:
Jack is an outstanding Strathfield student whose leadership, sporting excellence, and community service demonstrate sustained impact. As School Swimming Captain, Open Swimming Champion, and Senior golfer at St Patrick's College Strathfield, he leads with discipline and integrity. Through Surf Life Saving, Jack contributes over 40 hours of voluntary patrol service, holds his IRB Crew and Silver Medallion qualifications, and mentors Nippers in water safety. He has also contributed to community events through performing the Last Post at ANZAC Day commemorations. A NSW Volunteer of the Year nominee (2024), he consistently demonstrates leadership, initiative, and commitment to serving others, making him a highly deserving candidate.
I would like to congratulate both of these young men for their commitment not only to the College, but to the wider community. These young men epitomise our touchstones as they go above and beyond to learn skills that keep our community safe, especially through their contributions outside of the College to the NSW Surf Lifesaving.
