Year 12 Graduation
Our Year 12 Graduation was held last Friday. We welcomed family and friends at the college and presented the students with their graduation certificates, followed by dinner and award presentations at the Woolshed. The event was a meaningful occasion for the students and their families, allowing us to reflect on their time at St Anne's College and celebrate the completion of their secondary education. We would like to extend our gratitude to the organising committee, led by Meredith Lia and Sarah Baglin, for ensuring the evening was a success. A special congratulations to the award recipients who were recognised for their achievements throughout the year.
Vale Monsignor Frank Marriot
It is with great sadness that we mark the loss of Monsignor Frank Marriott, a highly respected and much loved leader of Sandhurst who passed away earlier in the week. Monsignor Frank was a longstanding figure in the diocese, serving in a large number of parishes including locally at Shepparton, St Mary's Mooroopna, and Nagambie. One of my favourite stories was about him playing cricket for Nagambie on a Saturday afternoon and backing up for mass that same night!
He shared a close friendship with Mons Peter Jeffrey; together, they provided inspirational leadership for Sandhurst and participated in numerous initiatives and trips (including an OS trip to Fiji just last year).
Staff Movement
Departing Staff
At the close of each year, we reflect on the departure of our teachers. We extend our best wishes for continued success and blessings to Elizabeth Holligan, Anthony Holligan, Meredith Lia, Brooke Kelly, Jamie Kelly and John Pena as they embark upon new professional endeavours in the coming year.
New Staff
I am pleased to announce the appointments of the following educators who will be commencing or returning to St Anne's in the upcoming year:
Michael Quin will be joining us from St Joseph's Mildura and has been appointed to the Year 10–12 Community and Wellbeing Leader role.
Gary Woodward will undertake the Primary Community and Wellbeing Leader responsibilities and is transferring from St Mary's Mooroopna.
Martyn Dillon will teach one of our primary classes next year, coming from St Peter's North Bendigo.
Fiona Bolton, a secondary mathematics teacher, is joining us from Shepparton Christian College.
Sandhurst Awards
The inaugural Sandhurst Award ceremony was held at the All Seasons Resort in Bendigo last week. It was a distinguished event during which students and staff from across the diocese were recognised for their excellence in various fields.
