Around the College

Sandhurst Awards
A huge congratulations to the St Anne's College students who took out awards at last week's inaugural Sandhurst Awards which celebrated educators and students who light the way across Sandhurst's 51 schools and six early learning centres.
We are incredibly proud of their achievements and their recognition as people who lead, support and service with faith, compassion and excellence.
EcoDay
On Wednesday our students embraced all things sustainability, led by our Year 6 Ecological Stewardship Leadership Team all while wearing a touch of green to show their support for caring for our planet.
Throughout the day students participated in a nature scavenger hunt, exploring the outdoors and discovering the beauty in the world around them, and also rolled up their sleeves for a rubbish pick-up session, helping to keep our school grounds clean and learning the impact of small actions.
In the classroom, they transformed their discoveries into beautiful watercolour artworks, capturing the colours, textures and tiny wonders of nature.
The whole school participated in Earth Hour, switching off lights across all learning spaces as a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility to protect the environment.
A meaningful day filled with learning, creativity, action and green spirit. Well done team!

The Year 5/6 students and the Year 7/8 took part in a Digital Thumbprint sessions yesterday, hosted by Optus.
The Year 5/6 students took part in a Cybersecurity Workshop which focused on various areas of cyber security such as ways the students can protect themselves online, how to create a secure password, two-factor authentication, privacy settings on social media, and staying safe while playing online games. Students also explored the power and risks of what they share online.
While the Year 7/8 students participated in the Cyberbullying & Online Respect Workshop which focused on respectful online relationships, consent online, image-based abuse, and the influence of AI. Students engaged with scenarios to understand their impact and the tools available to support themselves and their peers.
FIRE Carrier Excursion - Kaiela Arts
Last week 11 students attended the FIRE Carrier excursion at Kaiela Arts Shepparton. Steph and Melinda from Kaiela Arts welcomed the students and Melinda guided the students on how to weave bracelets.
Many of the students had never done this before and thoroughly enjoyed learning the new skill - so much so that they wanted to stay there and keep weaving!
