Year 12 Leadership Message

As our final first term comes to an end, the Year 12 Leadership Team has settled into their roles and begun to develop our vision for the school year. In 2026, we’re aiming to bridge the gap between year levels and amplify and give platform to as many voices as possible. From the sports carnivals to leadership and academic excursions, to being back in the classroom, term 1 has been a whirlwind of events. Essentially, we have been setting the standard for the legacy we want the class of ‘26 to leave behind.
On the topic of milestones achieved within our first ten weeks back at school, the Leadership Team has been meeting weekly with Mr Price; to discuss the lasting impact we’d like to leave upon the school. We have planned our cohort’s dress up days, provided inspiration at whole school assemblies, been inducted at the Investiture, cultivated discussion surrounding the use of the year 12 common room, and set up a canteen volunteering plan for senior leaders in the second term. We have been developing ways to foster connection and mutual understanding between teachers and students, as well as coming up with new ways to platform high achievers around the school. All in all, term 1 has been jam-packed with accomplishments for us, and we’d like to continue this momentum throughout the year.
While we are barrelling towards the end of our high school journey, the year 12 cohort has come together, to enjoy the eight months we have left and to support one another through the brunt of our final year. For the rest of the year, we want to focus on our sense of community and provide a positive example for younger years to look up to. We want to move around the school and meet younger students, learn about them and hear directly from the source, the student body, what we need to do as captains. We aim to improve things within Baimbridge but also out in the community, to take our sense of school pride out further than ever before. How we plan to do all these things is not yet clear, but every great innovation starts out first as an idea. We have the chance to shape the culture of the school we want to see thrive long after we graduate, so why shouldn’t we be the change we wish to see?
Thank you for an amazing start to 2026,
Your Year 12 student leaders.
