Celebrating the Class of 2026
As Term 4 unfolds, there is a wonderful sense of excitement, pride and nostalgia across Brentwood as our Year 12 students reach the final stages of their secondary schooling journey. The energy and optimism of the cohort is palpable, as students prepare to complete their final exams and celebrate the many achievements and memories that have shaped their years at Brentwood.
Over the past few weeks, our Year 12 students have completed their final classes, enjoyed themed dress up days and taken time to reflect on their growth, friendships and experiences. In the coming days, they will come together for a range of highly anticipated celebrations, including a new initiative, a Colour Run conceived and organised by our College Captains, as well as the traditional Year 12 Breakfast, their final formal assembly and the symbolic Guard of Honour as they farewell Brentwood.
These celebrations will culminate in our Valedictory Evening on Monday, 19 October, when our students will cross the stage in front of their proud families, friends and staff. This is a significant milestone, marking not only the completion of their secondary schooling but also the beginning of an exciting new chapter. We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2026 and recognising the contribution they have made to our school community.
Year 10 Work Experience
Our Year 10 students engaged in Work Experience during the final week of Term 3, giving them the opportunity to step into a workplace, explore potential career pathways and develop a greater understanding of the skills, expectations and opportunities associated with the world of work. Experiences such as these help students make meaningful connections between their learning at school and their future aspirations and provides a rich opportunity for learning beyond the classroom.
Year 9 City Experience
Our Year 9 students also took their learning into the wider community through the City Experience program also in the last week of Term 3. Students explored some of Melbourne’s significant cultural, historical and community spaces, including the Shrine of Remembrance, Melbourne Museum’s Ancient Rome exhibition, Queen Victoria Market and Melbourne Zoo. These experiences provided students with opportunities to engage with their city, broaden their perspectives and apply their learning in authentic contexts.
It is wonderful to see our students across all year levels embracing opportunities to learn, connect and challenge themselves beyond the traditional classroom. In coming weeks there will be a wide range of external sporting competitions, Visual and Performing Arts events and camps. These experiences capture what we value at Brentwood – encouraging every student to be the best Learner and Person they can be, every class, every day.
