2026-2027 Transition - Connection Groups

As part of our 2026-2027 Transition Program, we will be offering Connection Groups throughout Term 4. These groups are designed to support students as they prepare for the new school year, helping them feel confident, comfortable and connected within their 2027 year level.

Connection Groups will run for approximately 20 minutes each week and provide opportunities for students to build new friendships, reconnect with peers and broaden their social circles in a relaxed, play-based environment.

Participation will vary depending on individual student needs. Some students may attend one or two sessions, while others may benefit from participating over a longer period. Not all students will take part in these groups.

To further support this process, we have brought forward the timeline for students to complete their friendship preferences, with classes completing this by the end of Week 3. This information will help us foster positive connections and support students' social wellbeing during the transition period.

Feeling connected to peers and having a sense of belonging are important contributors to children's wellbeing and positive mental health. We hope these groups will provide valuable opportunities for students to strengthen existing relationships, develop new connections and approach 2027 with confidence.
