St Mary's Shines!

St Mary’s Badminton Success

Last Thursday, St Mary’s was proudly represented at the Badminton Tournament held at the Shepparton Sports Stadium, with 14 students from Grades 5–6 competing across all three divisions.

Our Grade 6 Boys competed in Division 1, where they faced some very strong opposition. Although the competition was challenging, the boys worked extremely well together, showed great sportsmanship, and gained valuable experience throughout the day. They should be proud of the way they continued to compete and support each other against some very strong teams.

Our Grade 6 Girls competed in Division 2 and put together some fantastic performances. The girls worked well as a team and were able to hold their own against the opposition, finishing the day with 2 wins from their 4 games. Their teamwork and determination were excellent throughout the competition.

Our Grade 5 Boys competed in Division 3 and had an outstanding day. The boys played brilliantly as a team, winning all of their games and finishing the tournament as Division 3 Champions!

This fantastic achievement also saw the boys bring the first-ever badminton trophy back to St Mary’s, making it a very special day for our school.

A special congratulations also goes to Nate Bale and Logan Anstice, who were recognised for their excellent sportsmanship and improvement throughout the day. Both boys were presented with badminton rackets as encouragement awards, recognising their positive attitudes and development.

We are incredibly proud of all 14 students who represented St Mary’s. Their teamwork, sportsmanship, determination and enthusiasm were fantastic to see. A huge congratulations to our Division 3 Badminton Champions on making a little bit of St Mary’s history!

Thanks to Mr Watts and Kade for taking the students to the event!
