Griffins Netball

Congratulations to Gail Butterworth on her recent recognition by Netball WA as a Local Sporting Star through the Volunteer Recognition Program. You can read the full article here.

For those who may not know Gail, she is the Griffins Netball Coach Development Officer and also coaches our A1 and A3 teams. We are incredibly fortunate to have her in this pivotal role within our club, particularly given that she travels almost 200 kilometres to work with our coaches and players.

Thank you, Gail, for all that you do for Griffins Netball. Your dedication, expertise, and commitment continue to have a significant impact on our athletes, coaches, and wider club community.

Griffins Basketball

Nominations close on Monday 24 August 2026

Players who previously played for Griffins, or are new and would like to play for Griffins, are invited to submit an expression of interest (EOI) to return for the upcoming season via the link below:

If you’re new to Albany, new to basketball, or looking for a club to play for, simply complete the attached EOI form. Please select your “Club Preference” or “No Preference” as your club, and the Albany Basketball Association will be in touch to help connect you with an affiliated club.

Team Selections and Grading – Sunday 30 August 2026

Once nominations are received, the grading and selection team will begin placing players into teams. If grading is required for your age/grade, it will take place on Sunday 30 August in the GSG Multi-Purpose Sport Complex. For now, please save this date. Times will be shared closer to the date.

Coaches needed

Coaches are essential to register a team. We still need quite a few.  Please email basketball@griffins.org.au

Griffins Hockey

Canteen Fundraiser

Saturday 29 August will be our major fundraising event of the season. 

What can you expect? Delicious, sweet treats, bacon and egg breaky rolls, pulled pork and nachos, just to name a few!

Where? ALAC Hockey Club rooms. 

When? From 8.30am, dinner available from 5.00pm. 

Who? Everyone welcome! Even if you’re driving past, please feel free to pop in and say hi!!

Griffins Merchandise and Uniforms

Players can order the Griffins training gear and supporter merchandise from the Griffins site Shop - Great Southern Griffins. A range of hoodies, tops, pants and accessories are available to buy. There are limited stocks of hoodies, but more will be added at the end of the month.
