Welcome!

Hello everyone, 

My name is Paul Bissinella, and I am very happy to be joining St Peter’s Primary School, Bendigo North as Acting Principal until the end of this school year. Today is officially my first day at school in the role! 

I am looking forward to getting to know the students, families, and staff, and to becoming part of the St Peter’s community. 

Before I say a little about myself, I want to thank Jeremy Darmody for his time as Principal of St Peter’s. Jeremy has given many years of service to Catholic education. At St Peter’s, he led with kindness, care, and generosity. His love for students, families, and staff has meant a great deal to this community. I join others in wishing Jeremy all the very best for the next chapter of his life. 

I have worked in Catholic education for many years. Most recently, I worked with Catholic Education Sandhurst Limited (CESL), supporting schools across the diocese. Before that, I was a primary school principal, including time at St Francis Xavier School in Ballarat East and St. Mary’s Primary School Swan Hill. 

I care deeply about: 

• Students feeling safe and happy at school 
• Strong learning in every classroom 
• Respectful relationships between school, families, and parish 

My hope for St Peter’s is simple. I want this to be a school where: 

• Every child feels known and valued 
• Learning is calm, clear, and consistent 
• Families feel welcome and listened to 
• Staff feel supported and respected 

Over the coming weeks, I look forward to meeting you and listening to what matters most to you and your children. 

Thank you for welcoming me to St Peter’s. I am grateful to be here and look forward to the journey ahead.
