International Student Update

2026 Mordialloc College Open Night

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the teachers and student helpers who contributed to making the 2026 Open Night such a success. We were especially pleased to have four international students join the Student Helper Team as tour guides. This was a wonderful opportunity for these students to engage with our college community and showcase their growth, as they confidently spoke with the school visitors, sharing their experiences and insights as students of the school. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and the way they represented our college.

Ivy (Y11 from China)

I feel like I've gotten to know Mordialloc College in a new way. Teachers and students worked very hard to make every subject more interesting and understandable to children and parents. Evelyn and I tried our best to introduce each station and lead our group. It was such a great experience.

Daily (Y11 from Cambodia)

It was my first time being a tour guide for Open Night, and it was such a great experience! I had almost 30 people in my group, so I had to use my loudest voice to keep everyone's attention whenever I spoke. It was wonderful to engage with the school community; being part of such a welcoming environment has had a huge positive impact on me. This role gave me a real chance to socialize with different people and build my confidence. I received so many questions from parents and kids about our school program, also some about my journey as an international student here at Mordialloc. I truly enjoyed the night and am looking forward to more activities where I can interact with the community!

Anzac  Day Service

On  Saturday 25th April, our international student Captain Evelyn  together with our college leadership team attended an Anzac Service.

Evelyn remarked " I had the honour of representing the school at the local ANZAC Day march and wreath-laying ceremony. It was my first time participating in the event, and it was a meaningful experience to stand alongside teachers and students in remembering those who served and sacrificed in war. The day gave me a deeper understanding of the importance of remembrance and community."

Year 11 Career Expo & Monash Caulfield Visit

On Friday, 1 May, all Year 11 students attended Melbourne’s largest career and education event at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, followed by a visit to Monash University’s Caulfield campus. It was a highly productive and engaging day for all involved.

Students had the opportunity to:

  • Explore over 100 exhibitors, including universities, TAFEs, training providers, and employers
  • Attend presentations on VCE subjects, study pathways, and university life
  • Receive valuable guidance on subject selection, exam preparation, and future career planning

The experience provided students with important insights to help them make informed decisions about their senior studies and career pathways.
