Year 9 Becoming Men Closing Ceremony: The Return

Year 9 parents are invited to the final part of the 2023 Becoming Men program, The Return. This event will take place after the Year 9 Reflection Day at UWA.

 

After students were symbolically handed over to the TC's Becoming Men staff in February for a year of growth and development, The Return will mark the end of their Year 9 experience as they are symbolically returned to their families. 

 

All Year 9 students are expected to make every effort to be at this event. If, for any reason, a student is unable to attend, he is asked to speak with Head of Year 9, Mr Miskiewicz.

  • Date: Wednesday 29 November
  • Time: 6.00pm – 7.00pm
  • Venue: McCabe Court and surrounding riverfront areas
  • Parent parking: Gloucester Park, via Gate 7 (corner Braithwaite St and Sailani Avenue)
  • Dress code: smart casual

Students please wear: collared shirt; dress shorts/pants; enclosed shoes

No: t-shirts/singlets; board shorts/sports shorts/denim; thongs/slides or similar

 

Important information

  • From 5.30pm: 
  • Gloucester Park open for parking
  • Students to start making their way across Matagarup Bridge, towards Optus Stadium
  • Parents welcome to start gathering at McCabe Court
     
  • 5.45pm: 
  • Students to gather on the Optus Stadium side of the bridge
  • Parents continue to gather at McCabe Court
     
  • 6.00pm: Event begins 
  • Opening Address to students
  • Parents continue to gather at McCabe Court
     
  • 6.10pm: The Return
  • Students and Becoming Men staff walk in silence across the bridge
  • Parents to start gathering at designated positions along the river
     
  • 6.25pm: Ceremony
  • Students meet their parents at the designated position
  • Address by BM teacher, and 'handing back' ceremony
     
  • 6.50pm: Liturgy and conclusion
  • All guests congregate in McCabe Court for brief Liturgy and closing address

TC Second-Hand Buy And Sell Day

 

To facilitate sustainable school shopping, the TC Parent Council is hosting a Second-Hand Buy and Sell Day.

 

Books, caps, footy boots, ties, bags - all this and more can all be sold at the event. Toilets will be open for students to try on uniforms.

  • Date: Saturday, 2 December
  • Time: 9.00am – 11.00am
  • Location: Carrigg Court (Trinity College)
  • Want to sell? Simply rent a table for $20, then bring all your TC items to sell. 
  • Want to buy? No action required; simply turn up on-the-day!

Only 40x tables are available, so get in fast to secure your table (only sellers need to book using the button below, not buyers). 

 

Note: If fewer than 10 tables are sold by Monday, 27 November, this event will not proceed and any tables purchased will be refunded.

 

 

Booklist information will be provided to families soon, to assist with text book purchases.

 

Funds raised through table bookings will assist the TC Parent Council to directly support school projects.

 

Important information for sellers

  • Sellers must bring their own payment platforms to facilitate transactions (e.g. cash float, Square device, PayID info, etc).
  • Sellers are responsible the pricing their own items at a fair and reasonable price-point.
  • Sellers must manage their own financial transactions, as they will receive 100 per cent of profits made through their own sales.

As the nature of this event is to facilitate the sale of pre-loved items, buyers are advised that items for sale may not be in perfect condition, may not be the latest edition, and/or may not have the current TC branding. Save the date for the 2024 Parent Council Welcome Sundowner!

 

To welcome in the new College year, the Parent Council invites all Trinity College parents and carers to enjoy the spectacular riverside evening views at the 2024 Welcome Sundowner. Mingle with other parents, Trinity College Leadership, staff, and the Parent Council.

Refreshments will be served throughout the evening. Please BYO drinks, glassware, and cooler-bags. Eftpos only; no cash.
