Hello DPW Community,
School Council Elections
Thank you to those who nominated for school council. A ballot will not be needed as we received 3 nominations for the 3 available positions. Congratulations to Melanie (mum of Rex), Joshua (dad of Sofia) and Dorothy (mum of Johanna). I look forward to working with you. Our first meeting is on Thursday, 26th of March at 6pm.
At the beginning of this meeting, we have our Annual General Meeting. All members of the school community are welcome to attend the Annual General Meeting, where we will be sharing our 2025 Annual Report. Please let the office know if you will be attending this meeting.
Whole School Picnic
The picnic is tomorrow afternoon! Looks like the weather is going to be great; second time lucky! The front gate on Quinn St and the gate on Hogan St will be open from 1:30pm – 1:45pm (with yard entry via the Hogan St side internal gate). At 1:45pm the side gate on Hogan Street will be closed for the remainder of the picnic. Both gates will reopen after 3:00pm at the end of the event.
Don’t forget to bring along your picnic lunch, a blanket or chairs and nab a spot. You may prefer to bring along a chair as the ground may still be a little damp from all the wet weather over the past few days.
Our before and after school provider, Kelly Club will have some activities for everyone during the picnic. If you have not yet signed up for Kelly Club, you can do this on the day.
Our Junior School Council has also organised a small fundraiser and will be selling Zooper Doopers, juice boxes, and small packets of chips. If your child would like to purchase something, please remember to bring along some change.
School Brand Review
DPW is beginning a fantastic opportunity to review who we are in 2026 and into the future. This Brand Review will include a full refresh of our logo, key visual elements across the school, and the core messages that represent our identity and the pride we have in our school.
Many of our current signs are well past their best‑before date, and we recognise that our community presence could be stronger. One noticeable gap is that we do not currently have a clear school icon or logo, and this will be an important focus as we move through the review process.
We will be keeping our school colours, although the way they are used may evolve. I have already informed our uniform supplier that this project is underway, and they will no longer produce uniforms featuring our current symbol.
Public Holiday
Just a reminder to everyone that Monday is a public holiday, so no school. We will be looking forward to seeing all of our students again on Tuesday, 10th of March.
Kindest Regards,

Deanne Scott
