39 Steps

Our Year 9s performance of The 39 Steps Even More Abridged is thoroughly underway.  This student-run performance is gaining momentum and creativity that we managed to capture a moment with them making a stuffed dummy for one of the scenes.

Students have designed and sourced set and props already.  They are keen to use reusable material as part of their ethical use criteria and are busy making further items to support rehearsals.

This all-round collaborative experience immerses students into all aspects of a production as they move swiftly from the planning into the developmental stages.  All students will be given an opportunity to direct various scenes and have their visions realised on stage. We have lighting and sound collaborations and some students have already created original music scores to feature in the production.

Year 9 student Riley Hayes was pleased he got to compose some thematic music and is looking forward to seeing his creation utilised in the performance. The performance is scheduled for 30 October in our brand new auditorium so stay tuned for further ticketing information!

The Lion King JR

We caught Mr Snibson hard at work, giving choral direction to the wonderful cast of The Lion King JR.  Students have worked hard since the end of Term 2 and have even committed to attending some weekend rehearsals!

Our students have been fortunate to rehearse in our two great Performing Arts spaces highlighting not only the investment, but the importance of creativity and the arts in our student programs.  The cast are looking forward to delivering a great performance in Term 4.  Many students returned after the success of our School of Rock production hungry for more, and so far, have just got stuck in.

A few of our cast members are also going to be performing in the Year 9 production and are relishing the opportunity to manage two productions!
