I trust the Junior School community have had a good week! It’s been a notably productive fortnight for our Year 7 and 8 students, who have settled in remarkably well to Term 3. Their enthusiasm and dedication are truly commendable.
During Week 2, our Year 7 and 8 students participated in an impactful Brainstorm Productions workshop titled 'Sticks and Stones.' This engaging experience featured a live performance by two actors who addressed critical issues such as bullying, harassment, and the impact of social media, peers, and family. The workshop provided a valuable platform for students to reflect on these important topics. In addition, our Pastoral Care program has included follow-up lessons to further explore and reinforce the concepts discussed.
We recently had the pleasure of hosting the Year 7 Retreat Day, and I want to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Homeroom teachers and support staff for their enthusiastic involvement. The day was filled with meaningful activities and reflections, and it was evident that the boys genuinely enjoyed their time together.
Congratulations to the Junior School's Chris Nolan Award winners! Your hard work and dedication to your studies have paid off and we are proud of your achievements. For those who didn’t receive an award this time, remember that your efforts are noticed. Keep striving for improvement and don’t hesitate to seek support from your teachers—they’re here to help you reach your goals.
I’d like to remind everyone about our Winter Food Drive initiative, a cherished annual activity in partnership with the St Vincent de Paul Society. Each Junior School Homeroom has a list of items that students can contribute to. Let’s come together as a community to support this important cause.
It’s wonderful to see so many of our boys actively participating in our Term 3 co-curricular program, whether it’s through sports like soccer and basketball, musicals such as The Lion King Jr, or clubs like board games and art. Your involvement enriches our school community and provides invaluable experiences. If you have questions regarding this, please speak to your Homeroom Teacher and they can point you in the right direction.
Finally, a reminder to families about school photos. Homeroom and individual photos were taken today. Roll call photos are scheduled for Monday. Please ensure that boys are dressed in their academic uniforms, even if they have PE on that day.
