Upcoming Student Wellbeing Event: The Day of Hope
We are excited to announce that our students will soon participate in The Day of Hope on the Monday 24th August, an inspiring wellbeing initiative designed to empower young people with the skills, mindset, and confidence to navigate life's challenges and pursue a meaningful future.
Presented by renowned youth speaker Glen Gerreyn, this engaging seminar will encourage students to reflect on their strengths, develop resilience, and identify practical steps they can take towards achieving their goals.
Over the past twenty years, Glen has shared his message of hope with more than one million people worldwide, speaking to students, parents, teachers, sporting groups, community leaders, and workplaces. He has been invited to present at TEDx events, featured on national television and radio, authored five books, and developed the highly regarded Men of Honour character development program.
Glen is recognised not only for his ability to inspire audiences but also for his unique gift of motivating individuals to take meaningful action in their lives. Through powerful storytelling, practical strategies, and authentic personal experiences, he challenges young people to rethink limitations, embrace opportunities, and develop a stronger sense of identity and purpose.
What Students Will Gain
By the end of the day, students will leave with:
- A clear sense of purpose written in their own words.
- Strategies to recognise and challenge unhelpful thinking patterns.
- An understanding of the four key skills that build hope: grit, optimism, courage, and resilience.
- One specific action they can take immediately to move towards their goals.
- A personal "moonshot" goal that inspires them to think beyond perceived limitations.
Building Hope Beyond the Day
The Day of Hope is more than a one-off presentation. It aims to spark ongoing conversations about wellbeing, resilience, purpose, and personal growth. By equipping students with practical tools and a renewed sense of possibility, we hope to strengthen their capacity to face challenges with confidence and optimism.
We look forward to this valuable opportunity for our students and are excited to see the positive impact it will have across our school community.
