Science Update

What a fantastic start to the term it has been! The weeks are already flying by, and we have an exciting term of learning ahead for our Year 8 Science students.
Here are some of the exciting events coming up:
Year 8 Geology & Humanities Excursion: Hanging Rock
As part of our Geology and Landforms units, students will take part in a joint Science and Humanities excursion to Hanging Rock. This immersive experience will allow students to explore geological features and landforms in a real-world setting, helping to bring their classroom learning to life. A Compass event should now be available with all the excursion details.
National Science Week: Week 6
To celebrate National Science Week, Year 8 students will visit Yarra Ranges Tech School to participate in an exciting hands on Biology program. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to experience science in a specialised learning environment and engage with real-world scientific investigations.
Year 8 Science Expo: Week 8
Our term will culminate in the Year 8 Science Expo, where students will showcase the projects they have been working on throughout the term. Working in teams, students will present an informative display and interactive model based on a geology topic they have investigated. We encourage families to come along and celebrate the wonderful work our Year 8 students have produced. More information about the Expo will be shared closer to the event.
We are looking forward to an exciting and engaging term filled with hands-on learning, real world experiences and opportunities for students to showcase their understanding. We can't wait to share their achievements with you!
