Farewell to our Grade 6 Students

As our grade 6 class of 2025 prepares for their graduation and departure from primary school, they expressed how they feel about leaving Mackellar.  On behalf of their teachers from foundation onwards, we feel privileged to have contributed to their lives and proud of their accomplishments and the young people they have become. We wish them every success for year 7 and beyond.

When I first started at Mackellar Primary School, I was in grade 4 and I was very nervous. I slowly made lots of new friends and felt happy. I will miss Mackellar Primary School and some of my friends that are not coming to my high school.  Dylan Apap

When I first started at Mackellar in 2023, I was in year 4 and I made lots of friends on my first day such as Maryam, Imogen, Jesabel and more. My favourite memories at Mackellar were the production, camp and meeting my buddies. Thank you, teachers and students, for making these 2 years of my life the best. I will miss you all. I first started at Mackellar when I was in year 3. I was scared to be going from a school with 100 people to a school with 300 people. But I met some of my best friends Hannah, Chloe, Zamaima and more. They always made me smile and feel welcomed. I also want to thank all the teachers who have helped me over the years by being patient with me and helping me understand things properly. I have been a student at Mackellar for 7 years. At first, I was so scared, but each day since then I have gained a touch more of confidence. Ever since I was in prep, I have had so much fun and have made so many memories at Mackellar. My biggest achievement was becoming one of the school leaders. When I first started in prep, I was very nervous and confused. But after 7 years of being at Mackellar I have learnt so many new things. Thank you to my teachers and helpers. I first started at Mackellar Primary School in prep and I felt scared. Eventually, I made friends and got used to going and learning at school. I am now in grade 6 and soon leaving. When I first enrolled into Mackellar Primary School, I was young, nervous and shook with fear, but after some time I began to feel more confident in myself and made lots of funny and caring friends.
