FINAL CALL for 2026 Athletics Carnival – Event Nominations
In Week 8, Tuesday the 9th of June, Year 3 to 6 students will compete in the Ironside Athletics Carnival at UQ Athletics Track. This is a mandatory day at school where all Year 3 to Year 6 students attend.
At the athletics carnival students can choose to take part in the participation event or the competitive event:
- Participation events: to allow students to try each event and have fun.
Or
- Competitive events: to allow athletes to compete competitively against each other and potentially qualify for district trials.
If your student would like to sign up for any of the competitive events, they will need to complete the survey in the link below (only select the events you would like to do competitively).
If you do not select any events, your student will take part in the participation events.

The survey will close on Sunday the 24th of May.

Upcoming Northern Eagles Trials for Term 2.
Note:
- Northern Eagles Trials are competitive trials for experienced athletes, in that sport trial.
- Inform Mr Reardon of your student’s interest and he will send you the permission form to complete
- Submit the permission form electronically to Mr Reardon 2 weeks before the trial date
- Nominations need to be submitted 2 weeks before the trial date to Mr Reardon (nrear8@eq.edu.au)

- Mon 25th: Northern Eagles: 10 - 12 yrs Boys' Cricket Trial 1 of 2
JUNE
- Mon 1st: Northern Eagles: 10 - 12 yrs Girls' Basketball
- Mon 1st: Northern Eagles: 10 - 12 yrs Boys' Basketball
- Tues 2nd: Northern Eagles: 10 - 12 yrs Boys' Cricket Trial 2 of 2 (By Invitation)
- Thurs 4th: Northern Eagles: 10 - 12 yrs Girls' Cricket
