District Athletics

Congratulations to all of the students that participated in the District Athletics last week.  It was a typical day in Melbourne with rain and sunshine throughout.  The students did very well, with 65 students attending and 29 students making it through to the next stage.

Your student should have received a sheet with the information for the next event, otherwise you will find further information in the permission form that you should have received earlier today.

District Athletics 7th September

By Patrick - 2026 Sport Captain

On Monday the 7th of September, students in Year Four, Five and Six who made it through our school athletics trials went to District athletics. There were many events including 100m, long jump, discus, 100m relay and more. Each person was in an event to showcase their skills. Some people were lucky enough to be in more than one.

It was terrific to see all the students and parents from St James cheering loudly, celebrating successes and showing empathy for those who were disappointed that they didn't make it through to Division.

Congratulations to everyone who competed and an extra congratulations to those people who progressed to Division. We will have people represented in all of the events including lots of teams who qualified for the relay.

We encourage all athletes to do some training over the holidays to see if they can improve their skills for the next round.

Thank you to Mrs Wall for all of her organisation to make this day happen.

Have a wonderful break with your families.

Stay safe, keep active
