Why Liturgies Matter

When Mass is not possible, liturgy is not a “second-best” option; it remains an important expression of our Catholic identity and prayer life.

While we may not always able to celebrate Mass together, liturgy remains an important and meaningful part of the faith life of our school. 

Through liturgy, our students gather as a community to pray, listen to Sacred Scripture, reflect on God’s presence in their lives and respond together in faith.

Our school liturgies provide opportunities for students to actively participate through prayer, readings, music, symbols, movement and reflection. 

They help our children become familiar with the rhythms and traditions of Catholic prayer while developing an understanding that faith is something we live and share in community.

Importantly, a liturgy is not a replacement for the celebration of the Eucharist. The Mass holds a unique and central place in Catholic life. However, when the celebration of Mass is not possible, gathering for liturgy allows us to continue to place prayer, Scripture and our relationship with God at the centre of who we are as a Catholic school.

These moments also remind our students that prayer does not belong only inside a church or during Mass. We can encounter God whenever we gather with open hearts — in our classrooms, our school grounds and in the everyday moments of school life.

We thank our Stage One students for running our Liturgy today and assiting is to gather in prayer.

Every intentional action we take helps our young people develop the language, traditions and habits of faith that we hope they will carry with them well beyond their primary school years.

Parish Mass Times

Please join our Parish to celebrate the Eucharist. Our Parish offers daily masses at 9:00am and two Mass times every weekend. 

Saturday - 5.00pm (now Winter has commenced)

Sunday - 9.00am
