Sports @ Maramba

Sport and PE at Maramba
It has been another exciting and action-packed few weeks for sport at Maramba!
On Monday, we had a very successful Grade 3 and 4 Hooptime Basketball day. All of our teams represented the school wonderfully, trying their hardest, having fun and enjoying some excellent wins throughout the day. It was fantastic to see the students putting into practice the skills they have been developing and, most importantly, enjoying the opportunity to play alongside their classmates.
A special thank you goes to our parent helpers and staff who assisted on the day. We would also like to acknowledge our fantastic Grade 5 and 6 student coaches: Bentley, Jay, Mia, Natalia, Farleigh, Aadya and Tenzin. These students not only coached and supported the teams on the day, but have also spent the past few months helping to train and prepare our Grade 3 and 4 students. Their commitment, leadership and willingness to support younger students has been outstanding, and they should all be congratulated on the excellent example they have set.
We would also like to remind families to please check Compass and provide approval for students who are attending the District Athletics Carnival on Tuesday, 2 September. We are looking forward to another amazing day of sport and seeing our talented Maramba students compete.
Last Wednesday, our students were fortunate to take part in a full-day cricket clinic run by Daniel from Cricket Victoria. The sessions gave students the opportunity to develop their cricket skills, learn from an experienced coach and gain a taste of what is involved in higher-level cricket.
Meanwhile, our Maramba Sports Academy students continue to work hard across their chosen sports. We are very fortunate to continue working with our professional tennis coach, Jess from Fountain Gate Tennis, who has been helping our academy students develop and refine their tennis skills.
It is wonderful to see so many Maramba students embracing opportunities to participate, compete, develop their skills and demonstrate excellent teamwork and leadership. We look forward to another fantastic few weeks of sport ahead!
