News and Notices - Part 1
Message From Our Principal
Children planted flower seeds when they arrived at school on the first day this year, symbolising that we were looking forward to seeing our students grow and flourish. Like our students, the plants are thriving. We have been pleasantly surprised to see flowers already.
We are very proud of the attitudes, achievements and actions of our students this term. They are a credit to themselves, Team Tally (staff), their families and our school community.
The support and care within our community throughout the recent challenging weather-related circumstances has been heart-warming and we remain grateful to be part of Tallebudgera. I personally would like to express appreciation to the Tallebudgera Rural Fire Service who reached out to support our school when the weather was really bad. A huge thank you also to Team Tally for their hard work that helped us to reopen after our buildings and grounds were impacted.
Aside from the extreme weather event, we have had an excellent term. This newsletter is an extended edition as we were closed when the last one was scheduled. We hope that you enjoy the news and updates. ClassDojo remains our main communication channel with parents and caregivers and is used to provide an abundance of information.
I wish all families safe and happy holidays and look forward to seeing you when school resumes for Term 2 (Tuesday, 22/4/25).

Active School Travel
We launched the Active School Travel program for the year with a wonderful before school breakfast earlier this term. As is our tradition, there was a lot of fun to be had for all and an epic dance off between the two mascots, our Tally Tiger, and Active School Travel's Zero the Hero.
Our Active School Travel breakfasts are possible due to the generous support of the Gold Coast City Council, Tallebudgera Lions Club, Bakers Delight and 19th Avenue Woolworths.
Thank you to our Active School Travel committee and Team Tally volunteers for organising and running the event.
Prep Highlights
Prep 2025 have had a very successful start to the year. We aim to make the first year of school extra special by including lots of highlights. This term, our Preps enjoyed their Teddy Bear Picnic, a hat parade and P for Prep Day. The P for Prep Day costumes were perfect and included princesses, pirates, policeman, painters, plants and more!
Thank you parents and caregivers for supporting these events.
Parent Teacher Progress Interviews
Thank you to the many parents and caregivers who attended the progress interviews this term. We value the opportunity to provide an update and strengthen the home and school partnership to support our students.
Dignity Vending Machine
A Dignity Vending Machine is installed in the upper school unisex toilets. Dignity Vending Machines provide students with free access to period products. We consider this to be an important initiative, ensuring that no student is without the sanitary products they need due to financial reasons.
Prosperity Partners
Thank you to this year's sponsors who have joined the P&C Prosperity Partners program:
Gold Sponsor: PRD Burleigh (John Fischer and Shelley Watkins)
Silver Sponsor: Nurse Next Door (Lauren Macdonald & Glen Parsons)
Bronze Sponsor: Southern Seas Marine QLD and Rib Force Inflatable (Ray and Tarnah Blane)
Sensational Sock Day
Sensational sock day is tomorrow (Friday, 04/04/24) and is a FUNraiser i.e. for fun. Students may wear their sensational socks with their uniform. Our fabulous Miss Desi who runs our tuckshop inspired this event, as she sometimes wears sensational socks and always spreads joy through her thoughtfulness and care.
We look forward to seeing children in their sensational socks and thank parents and caregivers for supporting this event.
Parking Update
The staff carpark project near the hall was anticipated to conclude during the April holidays, but the weather and some site factors have extended the timeline. The previous shortage of formalised parking on site meant that many staff needed to park in the limited parking around our school. We are looking forward to the completion of this work as it will make more parking near the school available for parents, caregivers and other visitors.
