School Council Update

There is always plenty happening behind the scenes at School Council and within our sub-committees. This month, we would like to highlight two important opportunities for families to have their say and support our school community.

The Student Wellbeing Sub-Committee has recently distributed a survey seeking feedback on our school values as part of its ongoing review of the values that underpin our school culture and community. We encourage all parents and carers to take a few minutes to complete the survey.

Your feedback will help ensure that the values we promote and the decisions we make reflect the priorities, aspirations and lived experiences of our school community.

A key focus for the Community Links Sub-Committee over the coming months is preparation for our major fundraising event of the year, our Trivia Night, to be held on Friday 21 August.

This year's fundraising efforts are focused on improving our playgrounds, outdoor learning spaces and school facilities. As always, the success of this event relies on the generosity and support of our school community.

There are many ways families can help. Do you own a business, or work for one that may be able to donate goods, services or a cash contribution? Could you contribute an item towards the class hampers that will be auctioned on the night? Perhaps you could donate a bottle of wine, beer, cider or spirits to our popular Barrow of Booze.

We would also welcome the assistance of families willing to approach local businesses on our behalf to seek donations.

If you can assist in any way, please contact Lizzie Ediriweera at Elizabeth.Henderson@education.vic.gov.au

Further information about the event and ways to support our fundraising efforts can be found in the recent Sentral communication titled Trivia Night 2026.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will help us create a successful event and maximise the funds raised for projects that will benefit our students. Most importantly, save the date and start gathering your team. This is always a fantastic community event and a great opportunity to connect with friends while supporting our school.

Please note that, due to the presence of alcohol, this event is not suitable for children.

Thank you to all families for your ongoing support of our school, whether through volunteering your time, contributing to fundraising initiatives or sharing your valuable feedback.

Warm regards,

Kate Rogers
